Night Fires – 20” W X 32.5” L ($190)

‘Night Fires” was created in response to the anniversary of 9/11 and the wave of media coverage which accompanied it. I was struck again by the searing photos of that day, especially the smoldering twisted steel of the World Trade Center building, which remained standing at the end of that horrific day. It was skeletal, eerie and now an image of our collective conscious. My quilt sought to soften the memory.
